Gardens and Footpaths
I have developed a technique for stitching and colouring paper to create lacy plant and flower imagery. The collages below combine stitched paper flowers and plants and hand coloured background papers, and have been inspired by coastal footpaths, walks and gardens in the UK and on my travels. The three panels to the left were inspired by the wonderful Cottage Garden at RHS Garden Rosemoor, in Torrington, North Devon, where I have held several solo exhibitions
More recently I have added birds to the collection, mostly observed in the garden and around the bird feeder, sometimes using paper made from Devon grasses with dried flower petals as backgrounds.
Some of them are available as prints.
